Adolph J. Meyer; 1866-1919, British artist, etcher and painter, active circa 1910, born and studied art in Liverpool, was known to have worked in Cheshire and North Wales. Meyer was elected an Associate of the prestigious Royal Engravers, his etchings were exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, as well as at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Cambrian Academy.
A finely detailed etching with drypoint in black ink with rich intaglio inking and fine drypoint burr, the image size measuring approximately 16 cms. x 23 cms, (61/2 x 9 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a laid paper sheet, measuring 21 cms. x 31 cms. (8 x 12 ins.) with makers watermark.
Titled and signed in pencil below the image.
Unmounted and unframed, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is very good.
