Albert Baertsoen; 1866-1922, Belgian painter, pastellist and graphic artist, he attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Gustave Den Duyts and Jean Delvin and continued his studies in Paris, at the art school of Alfred Philippe Roll, and exhibited at the Salon in 1889. The following year, he accompanied James Ensor, Frantz Charlet and other Belgian painters on a study trip to London.
This finely detailed etching is bright and unfaded, with excellent dark brown intaglio ink lines, fine detail and plate toning. The image measuring approximately 23 cms. x 20 cms. (9 x 8 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a laid paper sheet size 37 cms. x 27 cms. (14½ x 10½ ins.)with makers watermark.

Unframed and unmounted, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and the sheet is good, with toning and handling marks condusive with age.
