Young female Dancer Adjusting her Tights
Lithograph of a dancer, study by Edgar Degas (French, 1834-1917). Likely from Henri Riviere's portfolio 'Les Dessins de Degas Reproduits en Fac-simile'. The portfolio was published by Demotte in a limited edition of 250 copies, consisting of two series of 50 facsimiles each, dated 1922 and 1923. Limited to an edition of 250 or 305 dependant on the series.

A fine lithograph printed in black ink, the image printed on a laid paper sheet measuring approximately 14 cms. x 20 cms, (5½ x 8 ins.) with makers watermark.

The image sheet is signed in red ink; Degas in the lower edge, the image sheet also carries a George Auriol (Henri Riviere?) embossed blindstamp to the lower right edge, and attached at three points to its original backing sheet.
The backing sheet carries the portfolio number 34 in light blue ink to the lower right corner, this sheet also carries the faded remnant of the Anton Zwemmer Gallery stamp to the verso.
Unmounted and unframed, the condition of the image sheet is very good with the signature slightly faded, the backing sheet has scattered foxing with both sheets having handling marks condusive with age.
