Enoch Fairhurst; 1874-1945, English painter, miniaturist, designer and Illustrator who was born and lived in Bolton, Lancashire. Father of the Artist Jack Fairhurst. He was elected Member of the Manchester Academy in 1932 and RMS in 1943 and displayed in Walker Gallery amongst others in Liverpool.
This etching has retained its excellent colouring, bright and unfaded with black ink lines, superb detail and fine drypoint burr, the image measuring 27 cms. x 33 cms. (10½ x 13 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression.
Printed on a laid paper sheet measuring 36 cms. x 43 cms. (14 x 17 ins.) with full margins.
Signed in the image and pencil signed by the artist with the title and edition also in pencil.
Unmounted and unframed, the condition of the image and sheet is good with a light toning from a previous mat window and handling marks condusive with age.
