J. J. Chabridon
Alain Fare; born 1952, French artist and etcher, was known to have reworked and published etched plates by J. J. Chabridon.
Jean Joseph Chabridon; French artist who was taught by his lifelong friend, Lucien Vedar, before World War I. His work was exhibited at the 1925 World's Fair. He died at the young age of 50.
This etching is bright and unfaded in coloured inks, with fine plate tone qualities and detail. The image size measuring approximately 18 cms. (7ins.) in diameter within a strong evident platemark and impression on wove paper sheet size of approx. 25 cms. x 33 cms.( 9¾ x 13 ins.) with deckled edges.
Signed and titled in pencil by the artist beneath the image.
Unframed and unmounted the condition of the image is excellent the sheet is good with a water stain to the upper sheet corner and handling marks condusive with age.
