Harold Thornton; 1892 - 1958, Harold was a water colourist and printmaker who studied at Burnley School of Art and R.C.A. He became assistant master at Plymouth School of Art, and exhibited at Connell & Sons Gallery. Exhibitions included RA, SGA, Paris Salon. He also taught at Southwark Central School prior to WW2.

An etching which is bright and unfaded in black ink, with fine detail and plate toning, the image size measuring approximately 29 cms. x 19 cms, (11½ x 7½ ins.) within a fine, but evident impression and platemark, on a wove paper sheet size of 37 cms. x 25 cms, (14½ x 10 ins.)

Signed and titled in pencil below the image.

Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and the sheet is excellent.
