Henry Farrer; 1844-1903, English-born American artist known for his tonalist watercolor landscapes and etchings. Born in London, the younger brother of artist Thomas Charles Farrer. Thomas had studied in Britain under John Ruskin and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood before emigrating to America.
A fine atmospheric etching which is bright and unfaded printed in black ink. The image printed within a strong platemark and impression measuring approximately 18 cms. x 11 cms. (7 x 4¼ ins) on a full size folio paper sheet size 43 cms. x 31 cms. (17 x 12 ins.) with full margins.
Signed and dated in the image.
Unframed, unmounted and blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks and toning condusive with age.
