Henry George Walker; 1876-1932, attended the Birmingham Municipal School of Art and by 1907 was working as a freelance designer and commercial line artist from his own studio. In the late 1920s he began to concentrate on pen & ink and moved toTorquay in 1929. The patriotic Bulldog in a naval cap represents one of his commercial commissions during the First World War.
A fine original colour etching, the image measuring approximately 20 cms. x 25 cms. (20 x 9¾ ins.) within a strong platemark and impression.
Printed on a medium wove paper sheet, size; 24 cms. x 31 cms (9½ x 12 ins.)
Signed in the image and signed in pencil in the lower margin.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good.
