'Flowers in a Vase (Winter)'
Ohno Bakufu;大野麦風, 1888–1976, Japanese painter and printmaker, born in Tokyo, Japan. Over his lifetime he created over seventy designs. His best known piece is the Japanese Fish Picture Collection (Dai Nihon gyorui gashu). Although this is his most famous piece of work, he also created many landscapes and a few still lives. After 1923 Great Kantō earthquake, he moved to Kansai. He was an honorary member of the Hyogo Prefecture Academy of Fine Arts, and a member of Taiheiyogakai.
A beautifully coloured original woodblock print which is bright with unfaded colors, and strong block impressions, the image printed on a wove paper sheet size; 28 cms. x 41 cms. (11 x 16 ins )
Signed with red chop stamps in the left margin, the sheet also carries the artists signature in the image.
Unmounted and unframed, the condition of the image and sheet is very good with an ink bleed through to the reverse sheet and handling marks condusive with age.
