Meir Gur Arieh (Horodetsky)
Meir Gur-Arieh; 1891 - 1951. Russian born important Israeli Bezalel visual artist, painter, ivory and stone sculptor. Meir Gur-Arieh has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at The Petach Tikva Museum of Art. In 1923 established with Raban the 'Studio for Industrial Art'. His works are in the Israel Museum collection. Many works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'First Fruits' sold at Tiroche 'Israeli & International Art Part I' in 2011 for $9,775.
A rare etching which is bright and unfaded in brown ink, the image printed on a laid paper sheet measuring approximately 26 cms. x 19 cms. (10½ x 7½ ins.)
Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin.
Unmounted and unframed, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
