Edward Pryce Owen; 1788-1863, English artist, the only son of Archdeacon Hugh Owen. Schooled at St. John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a B.A. After officiating for some time at Park Street Chapel, Grosvenor Square, London, he became vicar of Wellington, and rector of Eyton-upon-the-Wildmoors, Shropshire. While travelling in France and Belgium, Italy, the Levant, Germany, and Switzerland, he made numerous drawings, from which he afterwards produced etchings and pictures in oils.
