Sam Garratt; 1865-1947, English architecture painter; landscape painter; naval painter and etcher, born in Barnwell and studied art at the Leicester School of Art. In 1906 he moved to Brecon in Wales. He Exhibited from 1900-1938 at R.A., R.C.A., R.H.A., Society of British Artist, The London Salon, Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery and the Walkers Gallery.
A fine etching which is bright and unfaded in black ink, the image measuring approximately 21 cms. x 16 cms. (8½ x 6½ ins.) printed within a strong platemark and impression on a medium wove paper sheet size 24 cms. x 19 cms. (9¼ x 7½ ins.)
Unmounted and unframed, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
