Thomas Benjamin Kennington;1856-1916, English painter of genre, social realist and portrait painter. Born Great Grimsby, studied at Liverpool School of Art, at the R.C.A. and at the Académie Julian in Paris. Original member and first Secretary of the N.E.A.C. 1886 and one of the founders of the Imperial Arts League.
 
A very fine etching which is bright, unfaded and crisp in rich black ink.  The image size measuring approximately  14 cms. x 17 cms. (5½ x 7 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a laid paper sheet size 26 cms x 37 cms.( 10 x 14½ ins.)
 
Signed by the artist in the etched plate.
 
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and the sheet good with handling marks and toning to the margins condusive with age.
