François Boucher 1703-1770, French painter, draughtsman and etcher, who worked in the Rococo style. Boucher is known for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories, and pastoral scenes.
A fine museum etching with aquatint printed in a sepia ink with fine detail, texture and plate tone, the image printed within a strong impression and platemark on an early wove paper sheet, measuring approximately 51 cms. x 37 cms. (20 x 15 ins.) with full margins. Will be shipped rolled.
Unframed and unmounted, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is fair with edge wear, soiling and handling marks condusive with age.
