Adolphe Léon Willette; 1857-1926, French Art Nouveau painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and lithographer, as well as an architect of the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. Adolphe studied art under Cabanel at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1881 .Adolphe was a master of both social satire and character study. He was commissioned by the prestigious L'Estampe Originale to submit lithographs along with such other artists as Whistler, Renoir, Redon, Toulouse-Lautrec and Pissarro.

An original print which is bright and unfaded in black ink. The image measuring approximately 25 cms. x 29 cms. (10 x 11½ ins.) printed on a chine colle on wove paper sheet measuring 29 cms. x 34 cms. (11 x 13 ins.)
Unframed and unmounted, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is good with a few small rust spots and handling marks condusive with age.
