Albert Banska; 1889 - 1957, early twentieth century German painter and woodcut artist, Albert Banska first received his arts education in the medium of ceramics. He moving to the city of Wurzburg, Bavaria, and during the following years created both color and black and white woodcuts of landscapes, city scenes, portraits, figurative scenes and animal studies. Today the artist's work will be found in public collections in both Germany and Austria.
This fine engraving is bright and unfaded in black ink. The image printed on a fine japon paper sheet measuring approximately 21 cms. x 18 cms. (8½ x 7 ins.)
Signed in the image and pencil signed and titled by the artist in the lower margin with the edition number 26 also in pencil.
Unframed and unmounted the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
