Alec (Coutts) Fraser, RSA, RSW, flourished; 1900-1914, Aberdeen painter in oil of portraits, figure studies, landscapes and genre. Head of Glasgow School of Art and Gray's, Aberdeen, also uncle and teacher of Jackson Simpson, Aberdeen etcher.
Rarely offered Alec Fraser etching etched with fine plate tone and detail, an atmospheric etching which is bright and unfaded in dark sepia ink.The image size measuring approximately 25 cms. x 12 cms. (10 x 5 ins.) within a fine but evident platemark and excellent impression, on watermarked laid paper sheet size 30 cms x 18 cms. (12 x 7 ins.)
Pencil signed and titled by the artist beneath the image.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and the sheet is very good with minor handling marks condusive with age.
