Anton Forster; active 1912-1921 German artist and etcher; very little is known of the artist but in the summer of 1912 Anton Forster visited the fishing village of Volendam in the Netherlands.
This etching has retained its colouring, unfaded in black ink, with excellent line detail, textures and plate tone.
The image measures approximately 11 cms. x 15 cms, (4¼ x 6 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a medium laid paper sheet size 23 cms. x 30 cms, (9½ x 12 ins.)
Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower image.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and the sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
