Antonín (Anthony) Strnadel; 1910-1975, Bohemian Czech painter and graphic artist. Pupil of M. Svabinsky at The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, member of UB and SVU Ales. As a painter specialized in Wallachian folk buildings, their interiors, furniture, tools and shepherds and their life. Teacher of the world reknowned Czech artist, Alena Kučerová at the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design, Prague 1955-1959.
Anthony Strnadel has a monument dedicated to him in Novy Hrozenkov.
A very fine lithograph which is bright and unfaded in coloured inks, with excellent detail and plate tone. The image size measuring approximately 42 cms. x 33 cms. (6½ x 13 ins.), on a wove paper sheet size of 56 cms. by 40 cms. (22 x 16 ins.)
Pencil signed in the lower margin with the edition 139/300 also in pencil, and collectors/exhibition annotations in the lower margin.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image is excellent and the sheet is good with handling marks and toning condusive with age.
