Bernard Eyre Walker; 1887-1972; English watercolorist, etcher and artist. Reknowned for his landscape depictions of the Lake district. Bernard lived at Hawkshead Hall in the Lake district and married Dorothy Hemsworth Sykes. Bernard was the son of the painter William Eyre Walker and both had paintings in well known Art Galleries and were members of the Lake Artists Society.
A fine etching which is bright and unfaded, etched with fine lines, detail and plate toning in black ink. The image size measuring approximately 35 cms. x 21 cms, (13¾ x 8¼ ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a laid paper sheet size 41 cms. x 29 cms. (16 x 11½ ins.) with makers watermark and deckle edges.
The sheet is signed and titled in pencil by the artist in the bottom margin.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is very good with handling marks condusive with age.
