C. Hodgson

Cedric Hodgson lived in Rye and worked in the early part of the 20th century. He often signed his work 'Baron of Rye' and later change his name to Baron by deedpoll.

Etched with very fine plate tone and detail, a fine atmospheric etching which is bright and unfaded in dark brown ink.  The image size measuring approximately  15 cms. x 23 cms. (6 x 9 ins.) within a strong platemark and excellent impression, on a light japon paper sheet size 20 cms x 22 cms. (8 x 9 ins.)

Signed by the artist in pencil beneath the image.

Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good with a toning and handling marks condusive with age.
