‘Small Boy, Reading’
Chris Salmon; British artist, studied fine art at Canterbury Art College in the 1980s, and later in the 1990s completed a course in printmaking at Camberwell Art College. After a career in designing and making hats, playing guitar in the band Stump (1985-90), painting and building sets for theatre productions and working as a prop builder for clients including Disney and The Rock & Roll Museum in Paris, he finally settled into his vocation as artist and printmaker. Chris has also lectured in printmaking at Morley College, London, U.K.
A superb drypoint etching with unfaded raised intaglio black ink and finely detailed lines with fine plate toning and textures. The image measuring approximately 12 cms. x 18 cms. (4½ x 7 ins.) A very rich inking within a strong platemark and impression on a wove paper paper sheet size 19 cms. x 26 cms. (7½ x 10 ins.)
Pencil signed by the artist with the annotation A/P in pencil beneath the image.
Unmounted and unframed, the condition of the image and the sheet is very good.
