Clara Sporleder; 1880-1945, Art Nouveau painter and graphic designer, worked in Dusseldorf and created many Jugendstil-Gemalde and etchings. It is recorded as an artist in the Dressler-Kunsthandbuch ADK from 1930 and was a member of the German Federation.
This fine etching has retained its excellent colouring, bright and unfaded, in black ink with very fine detail, ink lines and plate tone, the image printed within a strong platemark and impression, on a wove paper sheet measuring approximately 18 cms. x 23 cms. (7 x 9 ins. )
Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
