Edgar Owen Jennings

Edgar Owen Jennings; 1899-1985, painter etcher and engraver, born at Cowling, Yorkshire and studied at Skipton School of Art, under W. T. Shuttleworth, Leeds College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London where he studied illustration, lettering, etching and engraving. He was appointed Second Master at Doncaster school of Art in 1926, after which Owen Jennings returned to the Leeds College of Art when he was appointed assistant master and head of the etching and engraving section. He was Headmaster of Tunbridge Wells School of Art from 1934 to 1965.

This fine engraving is bright, unfaded and crisp with excellent detail in black ink. The image size measuring approximately 10 cms. x 8 cms. (4 x 3  ins.) on medium wove paper, sheet size of 15 cms. x 10 cms. (6  x 4 ins.) blank on reverse.

Pencil signed and dated by the artist.

The condition of the image is excellent and the sheet is good, with handling marks condusive with age.
