Elizabeth Armsden; Little known Dorset artist; etcher who worked at Studland in Dorset and shared a studio with A. H. Berens. Her work was published by 'The Artist' and was known to have exhibited in both London and Paris. (From ' Hidden Talents; The dictionary of neglected artists working 1880 - 1959')
A fine etching which has retained its colour, bright and unfaded in black ink, with tonal values and textures, the image measures approximately 30 cms. x 21 cms. (12 x 8½ ins.) within a strong platemark and impression.
Printed on a wove paper sheet size 36 cm. x 26 cms (14 x 10 ins.)
Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
