Esther Stella Sutro
Esther Stella Sutro (nee Isaacs) 1869-1934 London born painter, studied at the Royal Academy schools for six months, then went to study in Paris. Married Alfred Sutro in 1894. She became a succesful artist in pastels also oils and watercolours. Exhibited both as Miss Isaacs and Mrs Sutro with International Society of Sculptors, painters and engravers, elected Honorary Secretary of the Pastel Society and later wrote a study on Nicolas Poussin.
A fine original lithograph in coloured inks with demure colouring, the image printed on a wove paper sheet size 59 cms. x 44 cms. (23 x 17 ins.) will be shipped rolled.
Signed and dated in pencil in the lower left image.
Unframed and unmounted, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and the sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
