Francesco Bartolozzi; 1727-1815, Italian engraver, etcher and painter, young Bartolozzi became a master in depicting beauty of expression, movement, and form.
An original oval etching which has retained its colour, bright and unfaded, in sepia brown ink with fine detail, plate toning and stipples, the image measuring approximately 20 x 15 cms (8 x 6 ins.) on a laid paper sheet 31 x 24 cms (12 x 9½ ins.) with makers watermark and trimmed to platemark.
Unframed and unmounted, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and the sheet is good with two worm holes in the top margin, soiling, discoulorisation to the sheet edges and handling marks condusive with age.
