George Huardel-Bly; born in Orleans, France 1872, Georges Huardel Bly established himself early as a master of engraving. He documented his extensive travels throughout Europe in the form of highly detaied etchings and drypoints. Settling for a time in Brighton, he was sought out by the famous and the well-to-do for his skill as a silhouette artist, very popular at the time.
Though little is recorded of his personal life, Huardel Bly was a prolific printmaker, particularly during his years spent in England where his etchings—from the humblest of villages to famous city landmarks –were very popular. The works of Georges Huardel Bly remain highly collectable today.
