James Priddey; English; 1916 - 1980. Painter and printmaker, born in Birmingham and studied at Birmingham College of Art. 1931 - 1935. James exhibited widely including Royal Watercolour Association and the Paris Salon, where he won a Bronze Medal in 1948 and Silver Medal in 1949.
This Artists Proof etching has retained its excellent colouring, bright and unfaded with fine ink texturing and detail.The image measures approximately 35 cms. x 25 cms. (14 x 10 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression.
Printed on a medium wove paper sheet size 43 cms. x 35 cms. (17 x 14 ins.) with full margins and deckle edge.
Signed in pencil lower right, and titled in pencil lower left.
The print carries a 'Warwick Galleries, Artists Proof' embossed blindstamp.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is very good, with handling marks condusive with age.
