Joseph Kirkpatrick, British; 1872-1930; painter and etcher who exhibited 1891 - 1928, and exhibited widely including the Royal Academy. Originally from the Northwest of England, he settled in Sussex.
This superb atmospheric aquatint has retained its colour, bright and unfaded in black ink, with excellent tonal values and textures, the image measures approximately 28 cms. x 17 cms. (11 x 6½ ins.) within a strong platemark and impression.
Printed on a wove paper sheet size 35 cm. x 24 cms (14 x 9½ ins.)
Signed by the artist in pencil beneath the image.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good with a toning to a previous mat window and handling marks condusive with age.
