Katrien Caymax; 1951 born Meeuwen-Gruitrode -2016, Belgian graphic artist and painter, studied graphics at the Kunsthochschule Hasselt in Belgium. Her first etchings were executed strictly in black and white then at the University of Belgrade she learned the basic technique of colour graphics she deliberately sought new technical solutions and developed a novel production process for color graphics in the 1980s. Her artform expressions are two-dimensional and their figures are slightly deformed, lines and surfaces are highlighted. Her oeuvre is quite figurative and most of her works have a female figure as the main subject.
A a superb abstract etching which is bright and unfaded in coloured inks, the image measuring approximately 36 cms. by 45 cms. (14 x 17½ ins) printed within a strong platemark and impression.) on a wove paper sheet size of 39 cms. by 49 cms. (15 x 19 ins.)
Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin with the title, date and edition 4/30
Unmounted and unframed, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
