Ken Lilly

Kenneth Norman Lilly (1929–1996) British wildlife artist who lived in Devon and contributed many painted pages to Look and Learn and Treasure magazines. Lilly was also a regular illustrator of books in the 1970s and 1980s and was especially noted for his studies of birds. Some of the best illustrations can be found in Kenneth Lilly’s Animals. As well as books, Lilly also illustrated a set of stamps entitled ‘Friends of the Earth’, released in 1986.

A fine print which has retained its excellent colouring, bright and unfaded.

The image measuring approximately 23 cms. x 30 cms, (9 x 12 ins.) on a medium wove paper sheet size 27 cms. x 36 cms, (10½ x 14 ins.)

The sheet is signed and dated in the image and signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin.

Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is excellent with minor handling marks condusive with age.
