Robert Houston; 1891-1942, listed Scottish artist, born in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire. He studied at Glasgow School of Art and was a painter in oils and watercolours of landscapes and figurative subjects. He was also a noted aquatintist and designed and produced railway posters.
This original limited edition drypoint etching is bright and unfaded in black ink, with excellent plate mark, plate tone qualities and fine drypoint burr. It has superb raised intaglio ink lines, the image size measuring approximately 14 cms. x 10 cms. (5½ x 4 ins.) on medium wove paper sheet size of 23 cms. x 15 cms.(9 x 6 ins.) the sleeve measures 25 cms. x 32 cms.(10 x 12½ ins.)

Offered within its original gallery/exhibition sleeve.
Unframed and tipped in by its upper edge to its original mount, the condition of the image and the sheet is excellent.
