Marion Rodger Hamilton Harvey
Marion Rodger Hamilton Harvey; 1886-1971, artist born in Ayr, Scotland worked in oils, pastel and watercolour. An accomplished artist based in Glasgow and a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Harvey specialised in portraits of dogs and horses, often worked on commission.
A fine characterful etching which is bright and unfaded printed in black ink, with fine plate toning and detail. The image measuring approximately 15 cms. x 20 cms.(6 x 8 ins.) within a fine but evident platemark and impression, on a laid paper sheet size of 22 cms. x 28 cms. (8½ x 11 ins.)
Signed by the artist in pencil in the lower image.
Unframed and unmounted, blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and the sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
