Marjorie Field; Flourished 1940-1980. British artist - printmaker and fashion designer. Best known for her fabulous 1940's fashion designs for Field Rhoades now held at the Victoria and Albert museum. Field Rhoades were based in South Audley Street in Mayfair London and created the Matita range of clothes often advertised in Vogue magazine. In later years Marjorie devoted her time to etching.
This original etching with aquatint is bright and unfaded in black ink, the image measuring approximately 18 cms. x 11 cms. (7 x 4¼ ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a wove paper sheet, size 25 cms. x 17 cms. (10 x 7 ins.)
Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good.
