Peter Daglish; 1930-2016. Artist and musician. At 25 Peter emigrated to Banff, Canada where his interest in painting developed whilst he was working at a hotel in Banff. He enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montreal and then studied at the Brooklyn Museum Arts School in New York. When Peter married he returned to the UK, where he continued his studies at the Slade School. This was followed by teaching posts at Ealing College, London and at the University of Victoria in British Columbia. Back in London, Peter taught printmaking at the Slade School and Chelsea School of Art in London. Peter's other passion was jazz and Cuban music. He played saxophone regularly with a number of jazz ensembles around London.
An excellent original print, which is sharp, bright and unfaded in black ink.
Printed on medium wove paper sheet size 46 cms. x 32 cms. (18 x 12½ ins.) with deckle edges.
Signed and titled in pencil by the artist in the lower image, the print carries the annotation a/p for Artists Proof.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
