Richard Ian Bentham Walker; 1925-2009, portrait, figure and landscape painter and printmaker. Born in Croydon, schooled at Canford school where he excelled at Art, but joined the RAF. After a time at Oxford, he trained at Croydon Art School and became a student teacher there before going to the Slade School of Art in London where he studied under William Coldstream.
Richard was elected a member of the United Society of Artists and of the Society of Graphic Artists, and he exhibited widely including at the Paris Salon and Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
An original engraving which is bright and unfaded in black ink with additional colouring and strong impression marking. The image size measuring approximately 42 cms. x 55 cms. (16 x 21 ins.) on an wove paper sheet measuring 51 cms. by 61 cms. (20 x 24 ins.)
Carries the date 65 for 1965 in pencil in the lower image.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
