Véra (Vera) Morosoff; 1899-1991, Russian artist. Vera Maslennicova Morosoff and her husband Nicholas Morosoff (1899-1994) were Russian-born artists who emigrated first to Italy in 1927, then to France in 1948 living in Paris during World War II and finally in 1951 they moved to New York City via Chicago, they lived and worked in New York until 1972, when they moved to St Petersburg, Florida.
This rare original etching is bright and unfaded with fine plate tone and detail in black ink. The image size measuring approximately 39 cms. x 30 cms. (15½ x 11½ ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on wove paper sheet size 48 cms. x 38 cms. (19 x 15 ins.)
Signed and dated in the image and signed by the artist in pencil beneath the image.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and the sheet is good with an overall toning and handling marks condusive with age.
